1) Two teams of the CISS students submitted two abstracts for the NASA Astrobiology and the Future of Life conference under the following topics and these researches abstract have been selected under the Poster Presentation.

• a. Edible Plastics and Plastic Consuming Mushrooms for Sustainable Living and Space Exploration. [#2011]
• b. Fate of the Earth’s Climate under the Sun’s Motion through the Milky Way Galaxy. [#2113]

2) The CISS presented research titled “To determine the density of Cosmic Energy in a Stupa and identify the type of particles emitted by the dome of the Stupa to the surrounding”. For the “Beamline for School” competition 2024, which is conducted by the CERN

Achievement

The CISS is the only institution in Sri Lanka that provides Certificate Courses and Foundation/Diploma courses under the endorsement of the State Ministry. Astronomy is not taught in government schools, and there mare no states or private institutions offering Astronomy Degrees in Sri Lanka. Therefore, the CISS has high potential to recruit students for the degree level.
