As an educational institution the main aim of the CISS is providing courses for students to earn Certificates, Diploma, and Degrees in the field of astronomy.

Other than that the CISS gives an opportunity for adults to register as a research student of the CISS and do research in the field of astronomy under the supervision of the CEO of the CISS.

Sri Lanka is situated in the low gravity area closer to the equator and a country which blessed with tourist’s attraction. Therefore The CISS stretched its hands towards the tourism and started a program for tourists as “Astro & Gastro”. Under this program we hope to acknowledge about our inherited methods and believes related with the behaviour of celestial bodies specially planets in our solar system

We have now started popularizing Astronomy among Schools in Sri Lanka and imparting knowledge about Astronomy. For that, we direct students to build Astronomy societies in schools. Through that, we identify students who are inclined to Astronomy in schools and refer them to our Courses. Since we can provide students with a pathway from the certificate course to the degree Program.

Our Institute organizes workshops on the basis of informing people about Astronomy and Popularizing our institute in society. In particular, we conduct workshops on the Handling and maintenance of Telescopes and night camp workshops for the general public.

As a CSR project, we are mainly promoting Astronomy through schools in the remote areas of Sri Lanka. And we are working to provide all the educational experiences that children living in urban environments get to the children of those provinces. Furthermore, we are making efforts to direct those children to the field of Astronomy and through that present them for national and international level competitive exams and give them recognition. Through these activities, we hope to popularize our institution throughout Sri Lanka.
